As the vaudeville and ragtime eras rolled over into the 1920s, music became jazzier and more improvised and took on a swingy quality. Dancing evolved with the music, resulting in the Charleston, Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Shag, and East and West Coast swing styles, that eventually gave way to rock and roll.
Diane has been dancing Jitterbug and Lindy Hop for nearly 10 years. She danced with the Cincinnati Lindy Circle, a performance swing dance troupe, from 1999 - 2001, and has taught swing at weekly dances, dance weekends, and in lesson series.
